We meet monthly to sew quilts. Started finishing grandmother's and mom's projects, which is fine but often not what you really would choose for yourself.
Now we create new quilts for each other's significant birthdays.
I had such fun choosing who got which badges, and picking contrast fabric from my stash. Had to seam some linings because dang directional prints.
P.S. we'll be using Latifah's The Clammy for the next quilt.

Not only is this Pop Tart #brekkybag the cutest little purse there ever was, but it was also made by one very proud 9-year-old. Evelyn got the chance to pattern test for latifahsaafirstudios new quiltcadets pattern, and she was beyond stoked. “Me??!! A pattern tester??!! I’m like, PROFESSIONAL!” ☺️ The pattern is awesome, and includes working with interfacing, appliqué, and sewing in a zipper. I stayed close by in case she needed help, but she did the whole thing on her own. In her words: “It’s SO cute and I can’t wait to make it again!!!” 🦄

Before the pandemic, Little Miss decided to make a new backpack for school. Her ability to sew it independently was a big factor in her choosing The Braveheart Backpack by latifahsaafirstudios. She did a fantastic job from choosing her fabrics (my peace, puffs, afro, love hand painted canvas), trims and notions. ☮️ ♥️ 🌟 She LOVES it! She wanted an in action photo of her wearing it at school. Then, school was our living room so she gave me permission to share it only in my stories.🕗 The Fall semester starts for us tomorrow, in our living room. She's on crutches recovering from ankle surgery and in no mood for an action shot. She is super proud of her bag and said I can post it today. 🥰 I am so proud of her work on this! Thank you Latifah and littlepincushionstudio for writing such fun patterns that kids can enjoy making!
